Bahrain Government Temporarily Implements Remote Work

Over the weekend, the government of Bahrain announced that 70 percent of its employees would need to work remotely.
The order was in response to heightened regional tensions due to the conflict between Israel and Iran.
The Civil Service Bureau stated that the order would not apply to essential and emergency services, where a physical presence is required. The remote work order would be in place until further notice was given.
The government had also asked schools to move to online classes as well.
However, the government reversed course on Monday. The Civil Service Bureau announced that all employees would return to normal in office hours starting Tuesday June 24.
These moves were made out of an abundance of caution, as the government of Bahrain focused on “ensuring public safety.”
