Kazakhstan recently added new visa categories to attract remote workers and digital nomads, as well as entrepreneurs and skilled professionals.

The first category is called Neo Nomad Visa (B12-1). According to a government website, “The Neo Nomad Visa (B12-1) is specifically designed for professionals and digital entrepreneurs who want to live in Kazakhstan and work remotely while maintaining their foreign income.” The visa is valid for up to one year, and can be extended for an additional year.

The second option is the Digital Nomad Visa (B9-1). “The Digital Nomad Visa (B9-1) is intended for highly sought-after professionals in the IT industry who are relocating to Kazakhstan to obtain permanent residence. It provides an opportunity to integrate into Kazakhstan’s workforce and contribute to its economic development.”

The final visa category is the Visa for Permanent Residence (B9). This visa is presented as “A Long-Term Opportunity for Skilled Professionals.” The B9 visa is an opportunity for individuals with high-demand skills to establish a long term presence in the country.

Kazakhstan is the largest economy in Central Asia and has a low cost of living. The country also features a mix of modern urban areas and traditional scenic landscapes. Additionally, Kazakhstan has a business friendly environment.
